Sorry, thought you were being sarcastic about my cooking. No, it actually comes out rather well. There are some dried mushrooms which reconstitute quite well, and the ship-wine isn't too tannic, so you don't get that bitterness that bad bourguignons sometimes have. Carrots and onions from the garden, of course, and there's a bacony-flavored protein that cuts quite neatly into lardons...So I'd say if you can make a bit of fresh bread, that'd actually make for a pleasant meal. And some sort of galette for dessert? Apples, perhaps?
