Some people from home didn't wake up.

[ shortly. derek is aggressively projecting any emotions about this onto isaac, so. ]

Things have been difficult recently. Since last month.

Well, my vote is always for "nod in passing, pretend there's not some sort of interdimensional cloning plot."

[But, and here's a mark of how soft he gets as soon as Nina's here:]

Though I have got a decent mystery meat bourguignon recipe that can be scaled up without difficulty.

I'm dealing with it.

[ wow josh give you an inch you take a mile!!! ]

But I can't be everywhere at once.

Uh, no. Not-- he didn't mention the whole... [To steal a word from Annie--] anemia thing, if that's what you're asking. He just said to tell you he was looking for you.

[Very ominously.]

[Well fine]

There's not much of an alternative to mystery meat here. Don't have to get shirty, and if you've got something better, you're welcome to it.

[oh]

Sorry, thought you were being sarcastic about my cooking. No, it actually comes out rather well. There are some dried mushrooms which reconstitute quite well, and the ship-wine isn't too tannic, so you don't get that bitterness that bad bourguignons sometimes have. Carrots and onions from the garden, of course, and there's a bacony-flavored protein that cuts quite neatly into lardons...So I'd say if you can make a bit of fresh bread, that'd actually make for a pleasant meal. And some sort of galette for dessert? Apples, perhaps?

[And at long last, Josh, here he is: Chipper George.]

So he doesn't always look like he smelled something rotten?

[Because Aidan is used to being that person in a conversation with a werewolf.]

I thought you said most werewolves were too busy with their own space werewolf business to worry about throwing down with a vampire?

[There's an edge of suspicion there - small enough that it hardly counts. Except it's Aidan, so of course it counts.]

Okay I need your cooking skills.

Please make some ice cream.

Also bring it to the O2 gardens and try not to scream like a girl because I'm spending 90% of my time all growl-y.

[oh
that is a question that makes him sad]

Hospital porter. Sort of the only job really available. Mitchell helped me get it. I did want to be a teacher, but that would have been a bad idea, really.

Looked mostly at upper-level. I thought I'd be a professor, really, and that I'd go back to school, but that didn't really work out.

What I know about cooking is enough not to starve if my take-out place is closed. The last time I bought fresh produce was when I went to Harrods and found pineberries and needed to know what they were.

It's like being in India.
